Religious Education News
We have decided NOT to have students return in person. We take the safety of our students and teachers as the highest priority. We cannot guarantee their safety in our facility which does not lend itself to social distancing.
We’re excited to share our chosen curriculum, Pflaum Gospel Weeklies with you. An alternative to bulky textbooks, each family-friendly issue flows from the Sunday Gospel readings, and has
an easy-to-use parent guide so you can feel confident about sharing the faith
with your whole family!
Due to major delays with the USPS we have not received the newest materials. We will mail the materials to you as soon as we receive them.
We will begin in person sessions in the next few weeks for the First Communion and Confirmation classes only. You will be notified by the teacher directly with the schedule.
Thank you for your support and we will all get through this together.
The social guidance all individuals must follow
to reduce the risk of new COVID-19 transmission:
• Cover your face
• Wash your hands
• Socially distance - six feet apart at all times
• Be vigilant for symptoms
• Stay home if you feel sick
All places of worship shall limit occupancy to 25 percent of the building’s maximum permitted occupancy level as documented in its occupancy permit on record with the municipal building department or other municipal record holder. The occupant count shall include all persons inside the place of worship, including attendees and staff.
This is a maximum of 70 total for St. Vincent de Paul Church.
A Prayer in Time of Pandemic
O God, whose Only Begotten Son bore the weight of human suffering for our salvation, hear the prayers of your Church for our sick brothers and sisters and deliver us from this time of trial. Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son: Be not afraid, for I am with you always. Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants; give us the wisdom to do what is right and the faith to endure this hour, that we might gather once again to praise your name in the heart of your Church, delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy. Through Christ our Lord. Amen
Collection for Priests' Retirement
Beginning this Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17, the parishes of our diocese will take up an annual collection to support the retirement costs of our diocesan priests. For many years the parishes of our diocese have generously supported a collection to assist religious communities with the retirement costs of their sisters, brothers and priests. These funds have gone to religious communities like the Venerini Sisters, the Sisters of Saint Joseph, the Assumptionists and the Trappists.. These funds have not gone to support the retirement costs of the priests of the Diocese of Worcester. We will continue to support the Retirement Fund for Religious in December but please join us in taking care of our priests this Ash Wednesday as we work to find new revenues to support them in their retirement. Thank you for your support.
All are welcome to join our parish family!
Please print and fill out the form below and return to the rectory. Registration forms can also be found at church entrances.
